
The Active Drama Company has
established itself as a leading educational drama resource providing
and producing a wide range of interactive educational pieces. Their
innovative work in schools covers a broad spectrum of issues
suitable for all key stages and encourages an active and creative
participation in drama.
We are running our summer school over three weeks from 3rd August
through to 21st August. The three weeks will concentrate on the
themes Past, Present and Future creating three short plays performed
at the end of each week.
We're all looking forward to it as, like the last eight years, it's
going to be great fun.
Participants can apply for just one week, two weeks, or the whole
three weeks.
This years venue will be the scout hut on Borough Road and there is
a limited number of free places for siblings.
The Mr Park shows will be running from June 15th - 26th. Mr Park
takes groups around Birkenhead Park meeting all sorts of characters
from the Parks history along the way.
Available as a KS1 performance, KS2 performance, concentrated
workshop performance (Victorians, Designing a park, World War ll and
Opening Day Celebrations)
Our KS3 & KS4 programme offers workshops* looking at TIE, Site
specific work, Script writing and much more.
Both programmes can be designed to fit the needs of your school!
Through the Gift and Talented programme with Wirral LEA we are
running a series of workshops to create a working script looking at
the history and everything else surrounding Birkenhead Market. The
group have been working for the last five weeks and look at
presenting a demonstration performance during the last couple of
weeks of the school year.
Brian McCann has been working with a group from Park High School on
his musical EMMA. Emma has successfully toured schools for many
years. The play focuses on issues surrounding HIV and Aids as well
as teenage pregnancy. Brian is extending the play with Mike Coffin
and the group creating a full length version for publication.

It has been reported in the local
press (WIRRAL GLOBE) that Active Drama are leading a team to 'save'
Pacific Road Theatre. The company can confirm that a group of
interested parties have been joined to make Pacific Road a leading
Arts Centre whist building on the fantastic reputation of the venue.
